Capital City Connect — Tourism Across Africa (Abuja to Freetown)

A proposed pan-African initiative — Tourism Across Africa: Forging Capital City Bonds Through Tourism and Trade — conceived by Amb. Phil Roberts for collaborative implementation with the FCTA Social Development Secretariat.

What it is: An epic road tour from Abuja, Nigeria, to Freetown, Sierra Leone, connecting capital city administrations, showcasing diverse landscapes, cultural heritage and economic opportunities, and building direct diplomatic and trade relationships between capital cities.

Why capital cities: Capital cities serve as the political and cultural hubs of their nations. By connecting them directly, the initiative reinforces pan-African unity, drives intra-African trade, promotes cultural exchange, and showcases the infrastructure linking the continent.

What it includes: Capital city trade exhibitions and cultural events, B2B meetings for entrepreneurs, a documentary series, and a digital platform for ongoing capital city collaboration.
